Not Using God as a Crutch

Although I talk a great deal about self-help on this blog I do not see my interest in religion as yet another tool to use to make me feel better during these hard times. Even at this early stage it DOES go deeper than that.

While it is true that following Christian teachings should make you feel better, increase self-esteem and self-respect, the purpose of the Christian journey is to submit to God‘s will and trust in him. That is HARD, especially for a control freak like me! Also to serve God and love one’s neighbour (literal neighbours and those who are other humans) as yourself. This is also hard at times. But we strive.
