Going ‘Home’

Coffin-Makers #1

Sad times in our church. A man who was connected to our church – a pastor at a neighbouring church but within our group, died on Sunday after a short battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He was 39.

I only met him once – last year – but his story had a profound effect on me. He said of himself:

“For several years I struggled with addiction while living. I was a thief a liar and addict, no one could trust me and I very nearly threw my own life away. When I hit rock bottom, Jesus took a hold of my life and turned it around completely. ”

He and his wife had five children. One died two years ago. Now this pastor has gone too. He still died in faith. Remarkable.
